Northville to Open Largest Pickleball Complex in Michigan in 2025

Northville to Open Largest Pickleball Complex : Northville is set to become the premier destination for pickleball enthusiasts by introducing one of the Midwest’s largest pickleball complexes. Scheduled for unveiling next year, the expansive facility spans over 50,000 square feet and will house 16 indoor courts dedicated to America’s fastest-growing recreational sport.

Mark Abbo, Northville Township Supervisor, expressed his excitement, stating, “I’m thrilled that Northville will be home to this and grateful our residents will have this amenity in the community. Pickleball has grown so quickly and the addition of the Northville Pickleball Club will provide residents with access to a world-class facility.

The state-of-the-art complex, aptly named the Northville Pickleball Club, promises a diverse range of offerings including open play, membership options, leagues, classes, lessons, personalized coaching, and a calendar of daily events. Plans also include a stadium court designed to host tournaments, professional exhibitions, and competitive matches.

Collaborating closely with Northville residents Mike Schmitt, Mike Kowalczyk, and Christy Howden, Co-Owner/CEO of Wolverine Pickleball, Supervisor Abbo points out the club’s detailed amenities. Kowalczyk remarked that they had traveled around the country to see other great places to play and how to make this the perfect place. They believed it would be one of the finest pickleball experiences in the country.

Beyond the courts, the facility will feature a Café serving light snacks and beverages, alongside a pro shop stocked with equipment from leading national and local brands. Groundbreaking for the project is slated for this summer, with a grand opening scheduled for 2025.

Located on the campus of Ward Church at 6 Mile Road and Haggerty, the Northville Pickleball Club represents a collaborative effort with the congregation and fulfills a longstanding need.

Mike Schmitt emphasized, “We’ve been searching for the right location to do this project for some time, the Ward Church location was not only a perfect spot, but also represents an opportunity for us to bring world-class facilities for pickleball players into the community. There is nothing like what we are doing in the I-275 corridor and, finally, local residents and fellow pickleball enthusiasts of all levels and ages will have a place to call home.”
