A New Paddle, A Strong Performance
Frazier, who had been with Selkirk since 2022, entered the Tucson Open as a free agent and chose to compete with the JOOLA Magnus 3S. The decision paid off as he dominated in singles, defeating No. 2 seed Connor Garnett in the quarterfinals before falling to champion Hunter Johnson in the semifinals. He later defeated Jack Sock to claim bronze, marking his first singles podium since September.
His mixed doubles performance was equally impressive. As the No. 16 seed, Frazier and Fahey upset multiple top-ranked teams, including No. 3 seeds Catherine Parenteau and Federico Staksrud, No. 9 seeds Jade Kawamoto and James Ignatowich, and No. 5 seeds Maggie Brascia and JW Johnson. The run secured Frazier’s fifth career mixed doubles medal and Fahey’s first.

Paddle Changes and Future Competitions
Frazier’s paddle switch comes amid a recent controversy involving Selkirk. The company initially submitted only one paddle, the 008, for UPAA certification in 2025, requiring all signed players to use it at the Hyundai Masters. Following the backlash, Selkirk added more than ten additional paddles for approval, but most players returned to their older models.
Frazier’s performance raises questions about whether he will continue using JOOLA in future tournaments. His next challenge will be at the Carvana Mesa Cup, where he is set to compete in singles, mixed doubles with Fahey, and men’s doubles with Pablo Tellez.
