Revolutionizing Pickleball: Tennis-Inspired Pickleball Paddles Promise Seamless Transition for Players

Tennis-Inspired Pickleball Paddles: JOOLA has introduced paddle shapes designed for tennis players moving to pickleball. By using familiar designs, these pickleball paddles make the change easier. The paddles are based on tennis rackets and help players keep their technique while learning the new game. This approach supports smoother transitions and stronger performance.

New Shapes Inspired by Tennis

As more tennis players start playing pickleball, JOOLA is designing gear to help. The company now offers paddles shaped like tennis rackets. This helps players use skills they already have. These paddles improve feel, reach, and control—key elements in both sports.

JOOLA has used outside sports before. Their Radius paddle was shaped like a table tennis racket. Now, they’ve taken inspiration from tennis. Players can choose from different paddle shapes to find what fits best.

Paddles That Mirror Tennis Feel

Agassi

The Agassi shape copies the look and feel of the rackets used by Andre Agassi and Steffi Graf. With more weight near the throat and a large sweet spot, it adds power and reach. It helps reduce mishits and comes in Champion, Edge, and Pro models.

Magnus

The Magnus paddle has a short handle and a long face. This allows for greater reach and fast transitions between shots. Tyson McGuffin said, “It plays like it has strings.” It’s best for players with one-handed backhands.

Perseus

The Perseus paddle is long and helps with spin-heavy shots. It feels like a tennis racket during volleys and groundstrokes. Its textured surface allows players to add topspin easily.

Hyperion

Hyperion paddles have a long shape and a 5.5-inch handle for two-handed backhands. These paddles help players add spin to forehands and backhands, like in tennis.

Vision

The Vision paddle has an extended shape and a 5.5-inch handle. It also has a wider face, which makes off-center shots more forgiving. This gives players better control and power.

Why Paddle Shape Matters

Each shape is made to match a certain style. JOOLA says the right shape helps players feel confident and adapt faster. Players can find a paddle that supports their natural moves.

“Tennis requires time on the front end and then intensity on the back end. And pickleball is the exact reverse. It’s intensity on the front end, and then you need to be calm on the back end.” – (Andre Agassi)

Switching sports is easier with equipment that matches what players know. These paddles help bridge the gap between tennis and pickleball.

News in Brief: Tennis-Inspired Pickleball Paddles

JOOLA launched five paddle shapes to help tennis players move to pickleball. Inspired by tennis rackets, paddles like Agassi, Magnus, Perseus, Hyperion, and Vision improve feel, spin, and control. These designs help athletes use familiar skills and adjust faster to the fast-growing game of pickleball.
