MATTA Pickleball Grand Slam 2025: The Malaysian Association of Tour and Travel Agents (MATTA) has launched the official website for the MATTA Malaysia Pickleball Grand Slam 2025 (MPG2025). Registration for players will open on May 1 at 12:01 a.m. via the website. The tournament will be held in Kuching, Sarawak, from October 7 to 20.
Pickleball’s Rapid Growth in Malaysia
Pickleball is quickly growing in Malaysia. Since July 2024, over 30 pickleball associations and clubs have registered with the Sports Commissioner of Malaysia. The sport, once a small pastime, has now become a major part of Malaysia’s sports scene.
Tournament Details and Goals
The MPG2025 is MATTA’s first pickleball event offering the largest prize pool. The cash prize totals RM100,000. It is expected to attract over 1,350 players and more than 2,600 spectators. The tournament aims to generate RM31.6 million in tourism revenue and promote Malaysia as a top sports tourism destination.

Special Features at MATTA Fair 2025
To promote pickleball, MATTA will set up two demonstration courts at the April 2025 MATTA Fair at Level 1, Hall 4. Visitors can try the sport first-hand and learn more about pickleball’s growing role in Malaysian tourism.

Players can register for the following categories:
Team event (Adult Open): Oct 7–13
Individual event (Adult and Junior Open): Oct 15–20
Both local and international players are welcome.

The tournament is endorsed by the Malaysia Pickleball Association, Sarawak Pickleball Association, and Kuching Pickleball Association. It is also supported by the Youth and Sports Ministry, Entrepreneur Development Sarawak, and the Sarawak Tourism, Creative Industry and Performing Arts Ministry.
