Celebrating JR’s 8th Birthday: Messages from Megan and Ryler

Even though Megan Fudge is currently competing in the Major League Pickleball (MLP) Virginia Beach Challenger tournament, she didn’t miss the chance to share a heartfelt birthday message for her son.

“Happy birthday to my forever baby boy! You will never grow old in my eyes, 8 today or 18 one day—you’ll always be my baby that completed our family perfectly. I’m sorry I couldn’t be there today, but can’t wait to celebrate on Monday. Love you more, endlessly proud to be your mama.”-(megan)

Her message also reflected the bittersweet reality of a professional athlete’s life, as she wasn’t able to celebrate the big day in person.

Ryler DeHeart, who has been balancing his roles as both a father and a coach, shared his own emotional message.

“J is such a blessing in our lives. He’s the best son parents could ask for and I can honestly say he’s my best buddy.” His message captured the unique bond they share, both on and off the pickleball court: “Whether we’re playing pickleball or battling in Mario Kart, we always have a blast! We love you, buddy! Can’t believe you’re 8 already, time just flying by!”-(ryler)

The couple also shared a video montage on Instagram, showing JR’s growth from a newborn into a confident young athlete. The clip captures the essence of what the DeHeart-Fudge family values most—love, togetherness, and celebrating every moment, big or small. It’s clear that, while their achievements in pickleball are impressive, the foundation of their success is the strength of their family.
