Novak Djokovic has expressed his determination to continue representing Serbia in the Davis Cup, even after moving his residence to Athens, Greece. Despite this relocation, Serbia’s Davis Cup captain, Viktor Troicki, affirmed that Djokovic remains enthusiastic about competing for his country in the prestigious international tennis competition.
The 24-time Grand Slam winner shifted his family’s base to Athens from Marbella in late 2025, seeking a more tranquil lifestyle. Djokovic obtained Greece’s Golden Visa, a decision influenced by Serbia’s growing political tensions and his wish to secure a more stable environment for his family. Currently, he resides with his family in a luxury villa in the coastal neighborhood of Glyfada.

Viktor Troicki, who leads Serbia’s Davis Cup squad, emphasized Djokovic’s pivotal role despite the player’s recent change in residence. Troicki shared that Djokovic is keen on helping Serbia advance in the Davis Cup and remains eager to compete once his fitness allows.
“Novak thinks that Serbia can continue to progress in the Davis Cup, and he would like to play and keep representing his country. For over 20 years, Djokovic has played with passion for our country.
In recent years, it hasn’t been easy for him to play on different surfaces, and it’s hard for him not to be with the team. But he wants to play when he is available, and he still gives us his support,”
Viktor Troicki said, as quoted by Tennis Head.
