In one promotional photo, Ohtani wore a blue half-sleeve zip-up jacket paired with black joggers and New Balance sneakers, holding a baseball while standing next to a child dressed in NB athleisure apparel. Another image showed him looking poised in a beige cap, jacket, white graphic T-shirt, black pants, and sneakers, carrying a baseball bat across his shoulders.

Earlier in March 2024, Ohtani launched a signature logo crafted in partnership with New Balance, symbolizing his path in professional baseball. He expressed his excitement about the design during a media event, highlighting the personal meaning behind the logo.

On February 4, Shohei Ohtani shared a glimpse of his first children’s comic book, capturing a moment where he sat on the grass reading with a small dog by his side. The comic, published by HarperCollins and written by Michael Bank, was officially released on March 2.

“Decoy Saves Opening Day” tells a fictional tale inspired by Ohtani’s baseball debut and centers on a dog named Decoy, who forgets to bring Ohtani’s lucky baseball to the opening game. Although the story is imaginative, it reflects the genuine bond between Ohtani and his dog.
Complementing this creative project, Ohtani launched the Shohei Ohtani Family Foundation in November, aiming to improve animal rescue and promote community health and happiness. Proceeds from the book contribute to helping dogs find permanent homes, reinforcing Ohtani’s dedication to animal welfare alongside his athletic career.
