Starting Friday, the new uniforms will be available for purchase at the Tigers’ D Shop in Detroit and the spring training site located in Lakeland, Florida. Online sales will open Sunday, with additional related merchandise planned for release closer to Opening Day, providing more ways for fans to show their support.

Ryan Gustafson, president and CEO of Ilitch Sports + Entertainment, emphasized the long creation period:
“We’re proud to introduce these new uniforms, which have been years in the making,”
he said. The organization explained that the design process took 18 months, focused on gathering input from both fans and players to ensure the uniforms resonated well.
“Both fan and player feedback were core to everything,”
the Tigers’ announcement stated, highlighting the collaborative effort behind the look. Until now, the Tigers had been one of only two MLB teams without an alternate uniform option, aside from the City Connects series.
Use of Alternate Uniforms in Games and Spring Training
The navy alternate jerseys will be worn during select road games, replacing the usual gray uniforms, while the orange alternates will be featured in chosen home games alongside the City Connect and standard uniforms. Additionally, players will sport these alternate jerseys and matching pants in spring training, complemented by MLB’s Grapefruit League-themed hats.
