Los Angeles Dodgers infielder Freddie Freeman is preparing for the upcoming season amid exciting family news. Freddie and his wife Chelsea revealed that they are expecting their fourth child, sharing the announcement along with their eldest son Charlie and twins Brandon John and Maximus Turner on Instagram.
In the post, Chelsea expressed:
“Worth the wait 🤍. Baby #4 is on the way and our hearts are already so full. We are incredibly grateful for the amazing woman helping bring our baby into our lives, and we’re choosing to honor her privacy as we walk this chapter.”
The couple has been married for more than ten years, welcoming Charlie in September 2016. The twins, Brandon and Max, were born via surrogacy in late 2020 and early 2021.
Earlier, Chelsea shared in a 2021 ESPN interview that Freddie has always cherished the idea of fatherhood.
“As long as I’ve known [Freddie] he said that since he was a little boy, he always knew he wanted to be a dad,”
she said.
“As important as being a baseball player to him is, I think being a dad is even more important.”
Freeman Steps Back from Team Canada’s WBC 2026 Roster
During the previous MLB season, Freeman maintained strong performance stats, including a .295 batting average, 24 home runs, and 90 RBIs, which helped secure his ninth All-Star nod along with the Dodgers’ second straight World Series championship. However, Freeman withdrew from Team Canada’s World Baseball Classic roster for 2026, citing personal reasons.
Addressing his decision, Freeman explained,
“There’s no health. I feel great. Body feels great,”
and added,
“Canada knows it’s a personal reason. You guys will probably hear about it in a month or two, but they were very supportive when I told them why I wasn’t going to be able to go out there and play.”
Freeman has not appeared in the Dodgers’ two spring training games so far this season, indicating his focus remains on family matters ahead of the next MLB campaign.
Implications for Freddie Freeman’s Season and Family Life
Freeman’s choice to prioritize personal commitments over international competition highlights the importance of family amidst a demanding professional schedule. This fourth child announcement marks a joyful moment for the Freeman family as they prepare for a historic season with the Dodgers. Given his strong performance and leadership, fans and teammates alike are hopeful that Freddie’s focus on family will translate into continued success on the field.
