As the 2026 World Baseball Classic kicks off this week, prominent figures from Team USA have showcased their new uniforms. Leading the group, Aaron Judge and Bryce Harper appeared on The Pat McAfee Show, displaying the gear they will wear as they aim to secure the nation’s first WBC title since 2017.
Leadership and Roster Highlights for Team USA
Judge will serve as captain for a highly skilled Team USA squad determined to improve on their runner-up finish in 2023, where they fell to Japan 3-2 in the title game. Speaking about the responsibility, Judge said,
“I got a chance to play for the best franchise in all of sports with the Yankees, the guys coming out of those doors are some of the best of the best. MVPs, Cy Young winners and everything, and same with this room: Cy Young winners, World Series champs, MVPs.”
He added,
“My job’s the same. I got to get the best out of everybody in that room.”
The American lineup features top position players such as Gunnar Henderson, Bobby Witt Jr., Cal Raleigh, and Kyle Schwarber, complementing Harper and Judge’s leadership.
Strong Pitching Staff and Tournament Schedule
On the mound, Pittsburgh Pirates ace Paul Skenes leads the pitching rotation alongside reigning AL Cy Young Award winner Tarik Skubal and veteran star Clayton Kershaw. Pool play starts Thursday and will be contested at venues in Tokyo, Houston, Miami, and San Juan, Puerto Rico. Team USA’s opener is against Brazil on Friday, with the championship game set for March 17 in Miami.
Outlook for Team USA’s WBC Campaign
With an experienced roster blending emerging talent and seasoned veterans, Team USA aims to end its near-miss streak in the World Baseball Classic. The combination of Harper’s and Judge’s leadership, alongside a strong supporting cast, positions the team as a serious contender to reclaim global baseball supremacy in 2026.
