Inter Miami Invited to White House After MLS Cup Win

Inter Miami has been invited to the White House to honor their 2025 Major League Soccer Cup win, a club source confirmed to ESPN. The team is expected to attend the event next week during their trip to Washington for a match against D.C. United, although final arrangements are still being made.

History of MLS Champions Visiting the White House

This invitation continues a longstanding tradition in American sports where championship-winning teams receive invitations to the White House. D.C. United was the first MLS team to be welcomed there in 1998 after their MLS Cup victory. Similarly, the LA Galaxy visited multiple times following their titles in 2011, 2012, and 2014.

Inter Miami co-owner David Beckham, who once played for the Galaxy, also attended a White House celebration in 2012 when the Galaxy were honored.

Details on Inter Miami’s MLS Cup Triumph and Significance

Inter Miami secured their first MLS Cup by defeating the Vancouver Whitecaps 3-1 on December 6, 2025, at Chase Stadium in Fort Lauderdale. Although the club had previously won the Supporters’ Shield and the Leagues Cup, the MLS Cup remained elusive until last season.

This milestone marks a major achievement for Inter Miami, underscoring their rise in the league’s competitive landscape and bringing a new legacy to the club.
