Seattle Seahawks linebacker DeMarcus Lawrence entered Super Bowl LX with his focus divided between the game and his wife Sasha Lawrence, who was 37 weeks pregnant with their sixth child. Sasha attended the event at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, determined to support him despite the late stage of her pregnancy, bringing her doctor along for safety.
Team Discussions and a Tough Decision Amid Uncertainty
During the broadcast, Kaylee Hartung revealed that Lawrence and his teammates had contingency talks about what would happen if Sasha went into labor during the game. One teammate advised,
“It’s not guaranteed you’ll make another Super Bowl, but you can have another baby.”
Lawrence eventually decided not to be informed if Sasha went into labor, honoring her request.
As Hartung detailed,
“If she goes into labor, DeMarcus told me he will not be alerted. That was Sasha’s choice, so he told her, ‘Whatever you got to do, this can’t happen today.’”
Balancing Career Milestones with Family Commitments
At 33 years old, Lawrence was playing in his first Super Bowl after transferring to the Seahawks for the 2025 season, having spent ten years with the Dallas Cowboys. This championship game marked an important point in his career, while Sasha aimed to be present to witness it despite the risks involved with her pregnancy.
The couple, married since 2019, share three children—son Damari and two daughters—and together manage a blended family including Sasha’s children Mariah and Kal-El from a previous relationship.
