Hobby, 59, joined Arkansas in December last year under head coach Ryan Silverfield, signing a contract worth $700,000 annually through February 2028. His agreement with the Razorbacks includes no-compete clauses that restrict him from coaching similar positions within the SEC and NFL through the 2026 season, highlighting the significance of his potential move to the Colts.
This prospective hiring would mark Hobby’s return to the NFL after several years in college coaching. His recent position was as an assistant defensive line coach at Tennessee last season, following an extensive eight-year NFL coaching tenure.

Marion Hobby has served as the defensive line coach for multiple NFL teams, including the Cincinnati Bengals from 2021 to 2024, the Miami Dolphins from 2019 to 2020, and the Jacksonville Jaguars between 2017 and 2018. Early in his career, he also coached defensive linemen for the New Orleans Saints during the 2006 and 2007 seasons.
His coaching journey began in 1995 as a strength and conditioning coach at Tennessee-Martin, moving on to a similar role while coaching defensive tackles at Louisiana-Lafayette from 1996 to 1997.
