Michael Hoecht Confident He’ll Be Ready for 2026 Season Start

Michael Hoecht expressed confidence on Friday that he will be prepared to compete at the start of the 2026 NFL season after recovering from an Achilles injury, according to Ryan Talbot of syracuse.com. Hoecht said,

“Yeah, that’s very much my expectation, I think it’s everybody else’s expectations.”

Impact and Injury During Previous Season

Hoecht was sidelined for the first six weeks of last season due to suspension but made a strong impression after returning, recording two sacks in just two games. Unfortunately, a torn Achilles suffered during Week 9 against Kansas City ended his campaign prematurely. He indicated his rehabilitation should conclude by July 1, which would allow him to potentially participate from the beginning of Buffalo’s training camp on July 23.

Recovery Timeline and Team Considerations

While Hoecht anticipates a full recovery aligned with that schedule, the Bills’ training staff will ultimately determine when he can safely resume practice and how quickly they allow him to rebuild his workload. Approaching the second year of his three-year contract with Buffalo, Hoecht appears to be on an upward trajectory despite the setback last season.
