Javonte Williams Signs Dallas Extension, ‘Feeling the Love’

In a decisive move less than two weeks before free agency, Javonte Williams chose to remain with the Dallas Cowboys, signing a three-year, $24 million extension. The announcement came Tuesday at The Star in Frisco, Texas, confirming Williams’ desire to stay where he feels most valued.

Williams Reflects on His Journey and Gratitude for the Cowboys

Williams acknowledged that although he could have explored offers from other NFL teams, his loyalty to Dallas was clear.

“But it’s about just being here and being around everybody. I feel the love here. This where I wanted to be.”

The running back, who had previously signed a one-year deal as an unrestricted free agent just last season, expressed excitement about his role moving forward.

Sharing candid thoughts on the early season, Williams said,

“At the beginning of the season, I didn’t even know how it was going to go,”

referring to his shared workload with teammates Miles Sanders and rookie Jaydon Blue.

“But I feel like it worked out for both sides. Everything was good. I’m just blessed.”

Strong Season Performance and Aspirations for Team Success

Williams closed out the 2025 season with a personal best of 1,201 rushing yards and 13 touchdowns, establishing himself as a key asset in Dallas’ offense. When asked about his ambitions to elevate the team’s performance, he confidently responded, “you know it,” emphasizing his commitment to maintaining the current roster’s core.

Williams Encourages Retaining Key Players During Contract Talks

Following the contract agreement, Cowboys owner and general manager Jerry Jones reached out to congratulate Williams. During their conversation, Williams made a noteworthy appeal:

“Yeah when Mr. Jones called me, I was like … Keep GP, too.”

His request refers to George Pickens, a major free agent this offseason and vital figure for the Cowboys’ future plans.

With his own contract secured, Williams now looks forward to the team finalizing deals with fellow standout players, aiming to strengthen Dallas’ roster ahead of the next NFL season.
