The Baltimore Ravens have finalized a two-year contract agreement to retain quarterback Tyler Huntley, preventing him from leaving the team. According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the deal could be worth as much as $11 million if all incentives are met, reflecting the NFL’s current practice of emphasizing maximum contract value during the offseason.
Huntley’s Journey in the NFL and Recent Transitions
Tyler Huntley, who originally joined the Ravens as an undrafted free agent in 2020, spent four seasons in Baltimore before briefly moving to the Cleveland Browns in 2024. Although Huntley was a surprising Pro Bowler in 2022, his time with the Browns was short-lived. Released by Cleveland in August, he rejoined the Ravens’ practice squad.
Following a concussion to Dolphins’ quarterback Tua Tagovailoa in the early 2024 season, Miami signed Huntley to their active roster where he started five games. He returned again to the Browns in August 2025 but was soon released and subsequently re-signed with the Ravens’ practice squad.
Performance and Role Outlook with the Ravens
Throughout his career with Baltimore, Huntley has started 11 regular-season games and one playoff contest, achieving two wins in his two starts last year. His cumulative record stands at 7-9, with 3,212 passing yards, 13 touchdowns, and 10 interceptions, along with an 82.3 passer rating. The new agreement suggests that Huntley is expected to serve as the Ravens’ primary backup quarterback heading into the 2026 season, providing necessary depth and experience to the roster.
