The Baltimore Ravens have reached an agreement to keep quarterback Tyler Huntley in the fold before the unrestricted free agency period starting in 2026. After serving as Lamar Jackson’s backup throughout the 2025 season, Huntley will remain with the Ravens under a new two-year contract valued at up to $11 million.
Details of Huntley’s Contract and Commitment to Baltimore
Coming off his third tenure with Baltimore, Huntley was expected to enter the open market but instead chose to stay with the Ravens. According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the contract spans two years and could reach $11 million. Baltimore-based reporter Carita Parks noted that Huntley’s strong bond with Lamar Jackson, whom he calls his “brother,” played a significant role in his decision to stay rather than pursue other offers.
Huntley’s Impact During the 2025 Season
Beginning the 2025 campaign on the practice squad, Huntley eventually surpassed Cooper Rush on the depth chart after the Week 7 bye. Baltimore replaced Rush following two starting appearances during Jackson’s injury, when the team managed just one touchdown. Huntley then stepped in and led Baltimore to a 30-16 victory over the Chicago Bears in his sole start, completing 17 of 22 passes for 186 yards and one touchdown, while rushing for 53 yards.
Career Performance and History with the Ravens
Over six years in the NFL, Huntley has accumulated 3,212 passing yards with a 66.2% completion rate, thrown 13 touchdowns against 10 interceptions, and contributed 795 rushing yards along with five rushing touchdowns. His relationship with the Ravens has been marked by multiple departures and returns, including a reunion last offseason after time with the Cleveland Browns during training camp.
New Era Under Head Coach Jesse Minter
Huntley’s latest contract arrives as the Ravens prepare for a coaching transition, with Jesse Minter set to take over as head coach in 2026. Having been a consistent presence throughout the John Harbaugh era, Huntley is among the first key players retained as Baltimore moves into this new chapter under Minter’s leadership.

Snoop told me last season during our 1-on-1 that he just wanted to be in Baltimore to support his “brother” Lamar Jackson. He never made it about himself. Now he gets the deal he deserves and will continue his journey with Lamar. #RavensFlock https://t.co/ZBE3c3j1EC
