Sidney Crosby will once again captain Canada’s men’s hockey squad, continuing his leadership role from the 2014 Olympics and the recent 4 Nations Face-Off. Connor McDavid, alongside Cale Makar, will fulfill the responsibilities of alternate captains as confirmed by Team Canada’s announcement on social media.

Crosby brings an extensive international record, including silver at the 2004 World Junior Championships, gold at the 2005 World Juniors, and victories at the 2015 World Championships and 2016 World Cup. He is pursuing his third Olympic gold, previously winning in 2010 and again in 2024.

For McDavid, this marks his Olympic debut, though he has earned gold medals at the 2016 World Championships and at junior levels for Canada. Makar’s international experience includes gold at the 2018 World Junior Championships and participation as an alternate at last year’s 4 Nations Face-Off.
