Tiger Woods Foundation Hits Major Milestone 20 Years After 9/11

Tiger Woods recently highlighted the significant growth of the Tiger Woods Foundation (TGR Foundation) nearly two decades after the 9/11 attacks. On February 11, 2026, Woods shared on X how the foundation he started with his father in 1996 has expanded, emphasizing its mission to provide safe educational spaces for children in need.

In his message, Woods reflected on the foundation’s origins following the tragedy of 9/11 and celebrated a key achievement in its network of learning centers. He explained how the foundation has directly benefited thousands of young people seeking opportunities to learn and pursue their goals.

Reflection on Two Decades of Impact and Growth

Tiger Woods wrote,

“After 9/11, I wanted to create a safe space for kids to learn, grow and chase after their dreams. Today, @TGRFound has served more than 217,000 kids across the country through our TGR Learning Labs, and we’re excited to impact more students from communities in need. As we celebrate the 20th anniversary of our first Lab in Anaheim, I’m proud of our students and grateful to everyone who has supported them over the last 20 years.”

This statement highlights the foundation’s ongoing commitment to education and community empowerment.

The post inspired heartfelt responses from supporters across social media. One user expressed gratitude, saying,

“As a member of a family directly impacted by the tragic events of that day – thank you.”

Another celebrated Woods’ influence:

“Way to go Tiger!!! You are such a hero to so many kids!”

A former mentor shared,

“As a past mentor it helped me become a better person and I am grateful for all you’ve done @tigerwoods and @tgrfound.”

Others acknowledged the foundation’s broader message:

“Glad to see your course of dreams growing and embracing more promising young people everyday. Your foundation celebrates the power of learning and love.”

Additional recognition came from a fan noting,

“That’s great. it’s what golf has allowed you to do off the course that doesn’t get as much coverage.”

Tiger Woods Extends Philanthropic Reach Through Partnership with Arthur Blank

Beyond reflecting on past achievements, Tiger Woods continues to expand his philanthropic efforts, recently forging a partnership with Atlanta businessman Arthur M. Blank, co-founder of Home Depot. Together, they will launch a new educational initiative to establish an additional TGR Learning Lab in Atlanta at the site of the former Capitol View Elementary School.

According to reports, Blank has committed $20 million to support this project, reflecting his dedication to education and community development alongside Woods’ foundation. The new Atlanta lab is expected to open by 2027, joining existing TGR Learning Labs located in Anaheim, Philadelphia, and Los Angeles, with another facility planned for Augusta by 2028.

Blank commented on the collaboration, saying,

“I have immense respect and admiration for Tiger, not only for his legendary career, but for the way he continues to lead with purpose off the course. It’s truly an honor to partner with someone who believes so deeply in the power of education and community.”

He also added,

“Seeing the impact of TGR Foundation, from the Learning Labs to the hundreds of thousands of students empowered through its programs, is incredibly inspiring, and I look forward to seeing the impact the TGR Learning Lab Atlanta makes on our community.”

Expanding Business Ventures and Global Plans

While philanthropy remains a central focus, Tiger Woods is also advancing his business interests. In 2024, he launched Sun Day Red, an apparel brand inspired by his tradition of wearing red on Sundays during tournaments. Having operated primarily in North America for two years, the brand is preparing to enter international markets in 2026.

The first overseas Sun Day Red location is slated to open in Taiwan, partnering with Emers for the launch. This expansion will begin with a pop-up store featuring exclusive designs, followed by a broader rollout to broaden the brand’s reach beyond its current footprint.

The growth of both the Tiger Woods Foundation and Woods’ business ventures reflects his continued commitment to making a positive impact, both through charitable programs that support youth education and through innovative commercial initiatives. As he recovers from surgery and continues to stay away from competitive golf, these efforts demonstrate a multifaceted approach to his legacy off the course.
