Event Details
The Earth Day Open is an outdoor, round-robin-style tournament. Teams will compete in various skill and age divisions, with medals awarded to the top three finishers in each category.
In keeping with the Earth Day theme, Revolin Sports will donate a tree for every registration through One Tree Planted, supporting environmental efforts.
The event will include singles competitions on Friday, April 26, followed by gendered doubles on Saturday, April 27, and mixed doubles on Sunday, April 28. All events will begin at 8 a.m., with the singles starting at noon on Friday.
New Prize Money for 2025
This year’s pickleball tournament introduces a prize pool for the open divisions in men’s, women’s, mixed, and singles events. The additional $25 registration fee for these events will help cover the prize pool, with $1,000 for first-place teams in men’s, women’s, and mixed doubles, and $500 for first-place singles winners.
The minimum number of teams required for prize money to be awarded is seven, with the prize pool distributed equally among team members.
Registration and Refunds
Players must register by April 16, 2025, to guarantee participation. After that date, no refunds will be issued, including in cases of weather-related cancellations. Registration fees will be refunded minus Pickleball Bracket fees if a cancellation occurs before the deadline.
DUPR (Dynamic Universal Pickleball Rating) is required for registration. Players must register at or above their appropriate skill level according to DUPR ratings, and ratings will be checked three weeks before the event. Players may be moved to a different bracket if their rating increases.
Environmental Impact
In line with Earth Day, the tournament highlights sustainability efforts, with each registration funding the planting of a tree. This initiative shows the GRPC’s commitment to the sport and the planet.
The Earth Day Open promises to offer thrilling pickleball action while supporting a meaningful environmental effort, making it a must-attend event for pickleball enthusiasts in 2025.
