New Pickleball Courts at Tappen Beach Opened to Meet Local Demand

New Pickleball Courts at Tappen Beach: Town officials in Oyster Bay, including Supervisor Joseph Saladino, Town Clerk Richard LaMarca, and Tax Receiver Jeffrey Pravato, have unveiled new pickleball courts at Harry Tappen Beach in Sea Cliff. Responding to high demand from local residents, the Town has introduced these courts to cater to the growing popularity of pickleball, a sport that blends elements of tennis, badminton, and ping pong.

Supervisor Saladino highlighted pickleball as a sport enjoyable for all ages, blending tennis, badminton, and ping pong elements. He noted its rising popularity among seniors and families who frequent the existing courts in their town. In response to this demand, he proudly announced the construction of new pickleball courts by the Town of Oyster Bay, aimed at enhancing recreational opportunities for all residents

“Pickleball is a fun sport for all ages that combines elements of tennis, badminton, and ping pong. It’s become incredibly popular in our Town, with seniors and families playing daily at our existing courts, Due to this popular demand, I’m proud to announce that the Town of Oyster Bay constructed new pickleball courts for all residents to enjoy.” -(Supervisor Saladino)

Town Clerk Richard LaMarca emphasized the social and health benefits of pickleball, noting that the new courts will enhance community engagement and provide a space for families to enjoy this rapidly growing sport.
