1st Century 21 Pickleball Tournament Sees Success In Hannibal

Century 21 Pickleball Tournament: The inaugural Century 21 Pickleball Tournament made a mark on the local sports scene this weekend, drawing players and spectators from across the region and setting a new benchmark for future events.

As the sun shone brightly over Huckleberry Park, the excitement was visible. Every division of the tournament sold out, showcasing not only the sport’s explosive growth but also the incredible community support behind this new event. Angela Broughton Peters, one of the key organizers, summed up the event’s success with a hint of pride and a clear vision for the future. Peters expressed her excitement about the inaugural event, noting that the overwhelming success of the first year had exceeded expectations.

Beginner Doubles: The team of Stacie and Drake Robertson took home the top prize, demonstrating that even newcomers to the sport can rise to the challenge. Angela and Ben Thompson secured second place, while Jane Crowe and Kris Potterfield rounded out the top three.

Intermediate Doubles: Drew and Grant Meisner emerged as champions, proving their skills on the court. Dawson and Taylor Wood took the second spot, with Roger Lunt and Wayne Harbourn finishing in third.

Advanced Doubles: In the most competitive division, Jarret Porter and Jacob Hammock claimed the championship title. Jamie Nemes and Andrew Vonderheide came in second, and Jordan Cochrum with Blake Huskey took third place.
