Paddles for Patients Pickleball Tournament, Pickleball Players Unite to Raise Funds for Free Medical Care

Pickleball enthusiasts in Montgomery and surrounding counties have a chance to play for a purpose as Medical Outreach Ministries hosts its inaugural Paddles for Patients Pickleball Tournament this Saturday at 17 Springs in Millbrook, Alabama.

The event aims to raise funds and awareness for Medical Outreach Ministries, a non-profit providing free healthcare services to uninsured, low-income adults in Montgomery, Autauga, Elmore, and Lowndes Counties.

The clinic relies on volunteer doctors, nurses, and pharmacists to care for over 800 patients annually, helping to reduce emergency room visits by offering chronic condition management and necessary medications.

Tournament Open to All Skill Levels

The Pickleball Paddles for Patients tournament welcomes players of all ages and abilities. Participants can compete in mixed doubles, men’s doubles, or women’s doubles, with skill levels ranging from beginner to advanced.

Raising Funds for Free Medical Care

All tournament proceeds will support Medical Outreach Ministries by funding medications, medical supplies, and operational costs for the clinic.

For those unable to participate, there are still ways to contribute. “We run on volunteers,” Stone emphasized. “And you don’t have to be a medical professional to help. We also rely on donations to continue providing free healthcare to those in need.”
