Initiated with a groundbreaking ceremony in March, the project has faced its share of challenges, including delays due to inclement weather and logistical hurdles. However, progress has been steady, and the community is eagerly anticipating the facility’s completion.

Funded by a substantial grant of nearly half a million dollars, the development includes nine permanent concrete pickleball courts and one adjustable court, designed to cater to the diverse needs of players of all skill levels. These courts are set to become a focal point for sports enthusiasts and recreational players alike, offering a dedicated space for the rapidly growing sport of pickleball in Clarksburg.

Doug Comer, Director of Clarksburg Parks and Recreation, expressed his enthusiasm for the project, highlighting its significance for the local community.

“It’s just amazing how fast this game (pickleball) has progressed over the years, For us to do our part of it, to have courts in the area, it’s just nothing but a win-win for the city and community itself.” -(Doug Comer)
