Pickleball Workshop for Beginners: Pickleball newcomers in Longview will have the chance to learn the game at a Beginner Pickleball Clinic Level One on March 20, 2025. Organized by the City of Longview Parks and Recreation, the clinic will take place from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Broughton Recreation Center, located at 801 S Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd.
Designed for Brand-New Players
This clinic is specifically for individuals with little to no experience in pickleball. It will cover essential topics such as game rules, equipment, and basic techniques to help participants confidently play with friends and family. The goal is to provide a strong foundation for beginners to enjoy the sport.
What Participants Need to Bring
Attendees are required to bring their own pickleball paddle and a water bottle. While court shoes are highly recommended for better movement and grip, low-profile running shoes are also acceptable. The clinic aims to ensure that participants are comfortable and well-prepared for their introduction to the game.
Experienced Instructor Leading the Session
The session will be led by Jessica Guire, an experienced instructor dedicated to teaching the fundamentals of pickleball. Under her guidance, participants will learn proper techniques and gain the confidence to start playing regularly.
Event Registration and Details
The clinic is open to adults ages 18 and older and is co-ed. However, registration for the event has already closed. Those interested in future clinics can check with the City of Longview Parks and Recreation for additional opportunities to join beginner sessions.
