Coppell City Greenlights Pickleball Complex with New Indoor Pickleball Courts and Restaurant

Coppell City Greenlights Pickleball Complex: A new indoor pickleball facility and entertainment plaza will soon open in Coppell, Texas, following the Coppell City Council’s approval of a zoning change request. The 17,655-square-foot venue, which will include five indoor pickleball courts, a restaurant, and retail space, is expected to bring a community-focused sports and social experience to the area.

Indoor Pickleball X Expands to Coppell

The facility will be operated by Jinting Chen, owner of Coppell PKB LLC, who also runs Indoor Pickleball Now in Fort Worth. After seeing success with that location, Chen hopes to create a similar environment in Coppell.

“The goal is to create a clean and safe indoor pickleball club that promotes the healthy lifestyle while meeting the demand for indoor sports and a social gathering space.” – (Chen)

The venue will provide pickleball programs for adults and children, including senior programs that may be covered by insurance.

“The club offers affordable pricing for visitors along with the pickleball programs for adults and children, as well as senior programs covered by insurance.” – (Chen)

24/7 Facility with Modern Amenities

The pickleball facility will be open 24 hours a day, with staff present until midnight and remote monitoring afterward. Chen emphasized that his Fort Worth location, which also operates 24/7, has had zero safety issues.

The building’s design will feature:

  • A red brick and stone exterior matching nearby businesses.
  • A grey metal roof and canopies to provide weather protection.
  • Retail and restaurant space to complement the sports environment.

Restaurant and Retail Plans

While the property is zoned for multiple restaurants, Chen has expressed interest in coffee shops and bakeries, as players at his other location have shown a preference for lighter food and drink options.

“Our onsite staff is more focused on promoting the community, providing information, organizing playing and coaching, all those (things). Our players have been craving for coffee and more eating options over there.” – (chen)

Location and Development

The facility will be built on the north side of S.H. 121, approximately 940 feet from North Denton Tap Road. The project will be developed by Dynamic Engineering Consultants.

Impact on the Community

The new Indoor Pickleball X location is expected to boost local pickleball participation while providing a social gathering space for the community. As pickleball continues to surge in popularity, this new facility could become a major destination for players in Coppell and surrounding areas.
