Christine Maddox’s Pickleball Success: The Power of Crystals

Christine Maddox’s Pickleball Success: When you’re on the pickleball court, facing down an opponent, or struggling to get your game back on track, finding that extra edge can be crucial. For Christine Maddox, a seasoned pickleball player and Reiki master, that edge comes in the form of crystals.

Christine Maddox, known for her unique approach to the game, uses crystal bracelets to help maintain focus and energy. Her belief is that these stones are not just for show; they play a significant role in her performance and mental preparation.

A Peek into Maddox’s Crystal Collection

In a recent chat after a practice session, Maddox shared insights into the crystals she relies on. “I wear crystal bracelets when I play. I have them on all the time,” she said. “They just help bring in a grounding energy, and I change them out for whatever intention I have for the day.

That particular day, Maddox sported a mix of carnelian, rainbow fluorite, dalmatian jasper, and larvikite. Each of these crystals, she explained, contributes to an athlete’s needs. “Basically, all of them together are great for athletes to wear,” she noted. “They help with self-confidence, strength, and injury prevention.

The Science of Energy

Christine Maddox isn’t fazed by doubt surrounding the practical benefits of crystals. She’s a firm believer that energy management on the court can impact performance. “Coming from an energetic standpoint, if you can sit in a more relaxed energy when you’re playing, you’re less likely to get injured because you’re not so tense,” she explained. “Also, if there are any other antics happening on court, the relaxed and protective energy can help you stay in your little bubble and can help you move forward in the match without being too bothered by an opponent yelling or someone in the crowd, anything like that.”

Choosing the Right Crystal for Your Game

If you’re intrigued by the idea of incorporating crystals into your pickleball routine, Christine Maddox offers some advice on how to get started. For recreational players, the choice of crystal can depend on what you’re seeking from your game.

“For rec players, I would say it depends on your intentions for what you would like to get out of your pickleball journey. If you find that you’re someone that is a little bit too hyped up on the court and wants to calm down a little bit, I would say rose quartz or Dalmatian jasper,” she suggested. “If you’re someone that needs an extra energy boost and you feel like you’re not super focused or need that extra help narrowing in, I would say amethyst or lapis lazuli.”

Despite her enthusiasm, Maddox emphasizes that the use of crystals is deeply personal. “I always want to preface and say that I’m never one to convert somebody. That’s never the goal. You usually find out about it because you’re called to it, and you feel like it’s helpful for you,” she said. “If you feel called to wear crystal bracelets, great, go for it. If it’s not for you, excellent. It doesn’t have to be for everyone.”
