Central Park Pickleball Camp: The Sport Kids Can’t Wait to Try This Summer in Moore

Central Park Pickleball Camp for Kids: A three-day Pickleball Camp will take place from July 21 to July 23, 2025, at The Station at Central Park, located at 700 South Broadway in Moore, Oklahoma. The camp runs from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. each day and is open to children ages 8 to 12. Registration is available from March 17 through July 20, and the fee is $60.

The event aims to introduce young participants to pickleball, one of the fastest-growing sports in the United States. Organizers highlight that pickleball is easier for kids to pick up than tennis, thanks to smaller paddles, a slower ball, and a smaller court. It blends aspects of tennis, ping pong, and badminton, helping children enjoy longer rallies and more frequent contact with the ball.

A Sport Kids Can Easily Learn

Pickleball is designed to be fun and accessible for children. It helps kids build coordination, enjoy competitive play, and quickly feel successful. Unlike some other sports, pickleball allows beginners to experience rallies early on, which builds excitement and confidence.

Camp organizers note that the sport is especially effective for first-time athletes because it’s not too complex and encourages movement and teamwork.

What Parents Should Know

Campers will attend sessions at The Station Gym inside The Station Recreation Center. Each session is three hours long, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., over the three-day period—Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday. Snacks and drinks will be provided during the camp, so there’s no need for kids to bring money.

Children should wear a t-shirt, shorts, and either basketball or tennis shoes. While campers are welcome to bring their own paddle, it’s not required—equipment will be available.

Encouraging a Healthy, Active Lifestyle

The Pickleball Camp is more than just an introduction to a new sport. It promotes physical activity, social interaction, and skill development in a supportive and engaging setting. It also reflects the growing presence of pickleball across all age groups in the U.S., especially in youth programs.

As the sport continues to gain popularity, events like this give kids a fun way to stay active and build confidence in a new environment. Parents interested in registering their child are encouraged to sign up before the July 20 deadline.
