Youth Pickleball Round Robin Fitchburg: A special youth pickleball round robin event will take place on Saturday, August 10, from 1:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. at McGaw Pickleball Court #2, located at 5236 Lacy Road in Fitchburg, Wisconsin, 53711. The event is open to players aged 10 to 16 who already understand the game’s basics, including scoring and basic skills. The event is organized by Erin Schettler, a volunteer with the McGaw Pickleball Advisory Committee (MPAC).
The round robin will feature seven games played across two pools, followed by a final round of ranked matches. This friendly yet competitive session is designed to give young players more court time and experience while encouraging community interaction.
Rules for Players
All participants are expected to show up on time and ready to play. If a player cannot attend, they are asked to find a substitute to fill their spot. Organizers emphasized that players who miss a session without arranging a substitute may not be allowed to register for future events.
More Than Just a Game
The McGaw Pickleball Advisory Committee, also known as MPAC, is behind the event. The group is looking for volunteers who are passionate about the sport and interested in helping the local pickleball community grow. “Love pickleball? Want to be part of the growing Fitchburg Pickleball community? MPAC is looking for volunteers! We’ve been working behind the scenes to maintain the courts, collaborate with the Fitchburg Parks Department, organize events and activities, facilitate Open Play, and provide coaching for beginner players. Now, we need more helping hands! If you have some spare time and would like to get involved, we’d love to hear from you. Join us in making our pickleball community even better!” the organization stated.
A Place to Play and Grow
The games will be held at McGaw Pickleball Courts 1 through 4, with Court #2 hosting the main round robin action. All instructors for the event are MPAC volunteers. The event not only gives young athletes a chance to play but also strengthens local ties and support for community sports.
