Pickleball Program Returns: Sharpen Your Game in Montgomery Village This August

Pickleball Intermediate Program Montgomery Village: A new invite-only pickleball program for adults is launching in Montgomery Village this August. The “Pickleball Intermediate Summer III (Adults)” class will run every Wednesday from August 6 to August 27, 2025, from 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the North Creek Pickleball Courts located at North Creek Community Center, 20125 Arrowhead Road. Led by PPR-certified instructor Karl Van Neste, the program is designed to help players sharpen their skills in the fastest-growing sport in the country.

Improving Pickleball Basics

The program will focus on improving key parts of the game, such as strokes, serves, dinks, footwork, and rules. Instructor Karl Van Neste will guide participants through a mix of skill drills and actual doubles gameplay. This structure is meant to help intermediate-level players strengthen their technique while enjoying real match play.

“Come out and try the fastest-growing sport – pickleball!” the program announcement encourages.

Pickleball is a paddle sport that blends tennis, badminton, and table tennis. It is typically played by two or four players who hit a plastic ball with paddles over a low net. The game has become popular for its simple rules and engaging gameplay. For this class, balls and paddles will be provided, making it easy for participants to join without bringing their own equipment.

When and Where to Join

Classes will be held on the following Wednesdays: August 6, August 13, August 20, and August 27. The time for each session is 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., and all sessions will take place at the North Creek Pickleball Courts.

The program is part of a larger effort to support adult recreational sports in the Montgomery Village area. Because this class is invite-only, interested players will need to be selected or recommended before participating.

Why This Program Matters

The return of this intermediate-level pickleball class highlights how community centers are working to grow the sport. By offering structured, small-group instruction led by a certified coach, the program gives players a chance to improve their game in a welcoming setting. It’s also another sign that pickleball continues to thrive among adult players looking for fun, social fitness options.
