Unlock Your Pickleball Potential: New Palm Springs Classes Promise Fast-Track Skills This September

Palm Springs Pickleball Classes 2025: Beginner and advanced beginner pickleball players can join classes led by instructor Mary Barsaleau at the Demuth Community Center in Palm Springs. The program runs from September 3 to September 24, 2025, every Thursday from 7:45 a.m. to 9:15 a.m.

Class Details and Costs

The course takes place at the Demuth Park indoor pickleball courts inside the Demuth Center Gymnasium. Depending on the month, the program includes four or five Thursday classes. If there are four classes, the fee is $95; if there are five, the cost is $115.

Students must have an annual recreation membership with the city. The fee for residents is $5.00, while non-residents pay $102.00. A drop-in option is available if the class has not reached its cap of eight students.

Skills and Learning Goals

The lessons are designed for players who are still learning the basics or moving into advanced beginner skills. Students will review the five main rules of pickleball: the ball must stay inbounds, one bounce per side is required, serves must start at the baseline, the serve cannot land in the no-volley zone, and games end at 11, 15, or 21 points.

For the summer, Mary Barsaleau is combining both beginners and advanced beginners into one session that runs from 7:45 a.m. to 9:15 a.m.

Importance of the Program

These classes give new players a chance to learn in a structured way and build confidence on the court. By teaching both the rules and key skills, the program prepares students to enjoy casual games at parks or take part in more competitive matches in the future.
