Dill Dinkers Pickleball Opens First Connecticut Facility in Simsbury

Dill Dinkers Pickleball Opens First Connecticut Facility: Farmington Valley is set to welcome one of its first indoor pickleball facilities on September 1, as Dill Dinkers Pickleball opens its doors in Simsbury with indoor pickleball courts. This new venue not only marks Dill Dinkers’ debut in Connecticut but also signifies the start of an ambitious expansion plan spearheaded by the Pickleball Brothers.

New Facility Details

Located at 500 Bushy Hill Road in the Simsbury Commons shopping center—previously occupied by HomeGoods—the new facility covers nearly 24,000 square feet. It features seven championship-sized courts that are currently under construction, with plans for a soft opening during the first week of September.

Nick Johnson, Dill Dinkers’ director of operations and sales, shared that the soft opening will include free open play and a variety of complimentary programming. Following this introductory phase, the facility will transition to normal operations before a formal grand opening.

Membership and Amenities

Dill Dinkers is offering special introductory rates for annual memberships: $400 for individuals, $750 for couples, and $1,150 for families of up to five. These rates are locked in for the life of the membership, ensuring continued access at the discounted price.

The facility aims to distinguish itself with several Pickleball amenities. In addition to climate control and a ball machine, it will feature dedicated event space, a pro shop, and options for leagues, clinics, lessons, and tournaments. Members will enjoy half-off court fees and the convenience of an online reservation system to avoid wait times. The courts themselves are cushioned to minimize joint impact, enhancing player comfort.

Max Johnson, managing director of the Pickleball Brothers, highlighted the facility’s unique offerings in an earlier interview. The lease for the Simsbury Commons location is set for ten years with options for renewal, showing Dill Dinkers’ commitment to the community and its plans for long-term growth in the region.

“We are trying to highlight that these introductory rates are locked in for the life of the membership, so they will be available for renewal annually at this same discounted rate.” – (Johnson)

Community Impact

The opening of Dill Dinkers’ Simsbury facility coincides with the grand opening of Raising Cane’s, a fast-casual restaurant located in the same plaza. This simultaneous launch is expected to draw local attention and traffic, further integrating the new pickleball venue into the community.

With its blend of high-quality Pickleball amenities and strategic location, Dill Dinkers Pickleball aims to make a significant impact on the local pickleball scene, providing a state-of-the-art facility for all enthusiasts and newcomers to the sport.
