1st Pickleball Tournament at Bluefield City Park is Set Debut

1st Pickleball Tournament at Bluefield City Park: WVU Medicine Princeton Community Hospital, in collaboration with Sons of Italy, is set to host the inaugural pickleball tournament at the newly constructed courts at Bluefield City Park. The event is scheduled for August 31, kicking off at 9 a.m. This landmark tournament will not only mark the debut of the park’s pickleball facilities but will also serve a charitable purpose. Proceeds from the tournament will benefit the United Way and provide scholarships for Bluefield High and Graham High School students.

Exciting Extras

Participants can look forward to a “swag bag” upon arrival and can enjoy additional festivities throughout the day. The park will also host a Lemonade Day and a Bluefield State University football game that evening. For those eager to compete, registration is open until August 28. The tournament will feature various skill levels and categories, including Men’s, Women’s, and Mixed Doubles, across age groups ranging from 15-34 to 50 and over. Skill levels are categorized as Beginner/Casual (2.0-2.5), Intermediate (3.0-3.5), and Advanced (4.0+).
