James Ignatowich Partners With IBSA USA to Promote Licart

James Ignatowich Partners With IBSA USA: James Ignatowich, a standout in the world of professional pickleball, is teaming up with IBSA USA to spotlight Licart® (diclofenac epolamine) topical system 1.3% throughout the PPA Tour and Major League Pickleball events in 2024. The agreement sees Ignatowich donning the Licart logo on his attire during PPA Tour matches and taking on a prominent role as the brand’s spokesperson both on social media and at live events.

Licart stands out as the only once-daily topical NSAID patch sanctioned by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for the relief of acute pain from minor strains, sprains, and contusions. “As the popularity of pickleball continues to soar, so does the incidence of injuries, particularly muscle-related issues, prompting a need for effective pain management solutions,” explained Michael Scully, IBSA USA’s Head of Commercial Operations. “Licart, with its low systemic exposure and minimal adverse events, aligns perfectly with the needs of the pickleball community, providing them with a reliable option for managing acute pain effectively.

With Licart, players receive pain relief right where they need it, allowing them to resume their activities swiftly. The patch’s innovative design ensures 24-hour dosing, with relief starting within one to three hours of application—an advantage over traditional pain relievers that often require multiple doses. Each carton includes 15 individual patches, which are easy to apply and won’t stain clothes.

As an athlete, I understand firsthand the critical role acute pain management plays in optimizing performance on the court,” said Ignatowich. “After intense matches or training sessions, pickleball players may experience muscle soreness. Proper pain management techniques, such as using topical patches like Licart, can aid in acute pain recovery from sprains and strains.

Ignatowich, who transitioned from a collegiate tennis career at Vanderbilt University to pickleball, has already made a mark with his recent victories at the PPA Tour’s Indoor National Championships. As he continues to make waves with the D.C. Pickleball Team in Major League Pickleball, his partnership with Licart promises to further elevate his profile in the sport.

Licart, available only by prescription, can be found at major retail pharmacies and through the Licart Direct Program, which provides access to the product at a reduced price regardless of insurance status. Those with commercial insurance can also utilize the Licart Copay Savings Card for immediate discounts.
