Pickleball Sessions At Packer Arena: The Austin Park and Recreation Department has joined forces with the Austin Minnesota Area Pickleball Association (AMAPA) to bring a new pickleball experience to the local community. The collaboration will see Packer Arena utilized as a premier indoor pickleball Court through October 6. With its spacious layout, the arena will feature four dedicated pickleball courts, catering to the growing interest in the sport.

Play Schedule and Accessibility

The facility will host pickleball sessions twice a week: Tuesday evenings from 6 to 8 p.m. and Saturday mornings from 9 a.m. to noon. These sessions are designed to accommodate players of all skill levels and ages, ensuring that everyone from beginners to seasoned players can enjoy the game. The setup aims to foster a welcoming environment where players can engage in friendly matches and practice.

Donation and Fundraising Efforts

Participation in the pickleball sessions is free of charge; however, a suggested donation of $5 is encouraged. This contribution will support AMAPA’s efforts to raise funds for the construction of outdoor pickleball courts in Austin. AMAPA, a newly established 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, is dedicated to promoting pickleball in the region. Their mission includes providing instruction, organizing events, and working toward the development of an outdoor pickleball complex.
