First Dink Foundation Brings Back Youth Pickleball Classes, This Fall in Jax Beach

First Dink Foundation Brings Back Youth Pickleball Classes: As the summer winds down, the First Dink Foundation is gearing up to bring back its popular mid-week youth pickleball classes at South Beach Park in Jacksonville Beach. Known for helping kids build character and resilience through sports, the foundation is offering an 8-week program for young players, starting on Wednesday, September 11th.

Two Programs to Choose From

There are two different classes available based on age and experience. The “Little Dinkers” class, aimed at children in grades 1 through 3, runs from 5 to 6 PM. This session focuses on introducing young kids to the basics of pickleball, emphasizing fun, coordination, and fundamental skills. It’s a great entry point for kids new to the sport or looking to stay active after school.

For older kids in grades 4 through 9, the “First Serve” class will take place from 6 to 7 PM. This session builds on the basics with more advanced drills, strategy sessions, and match play, designed to help young players develop both their technical skills and their love for the game. The program aims to enhance physical fitness, teamwork, and sportsmanship.

Weekend Clinics Also Available

In addition to the weekly Wednesday classes, the foundation is hosting several Saturday morning clinics throughout the fall and winter. These two-hour sessions are scheduled for September 21st, October 12th, November 16th, December 7th, and January 11th, from 8:00 to 10:00 AM. Each clinic costs $45 and is designed to offer more intensive training for youth players, whether they’re beginners looking to learn the game or more experienced players aiming to refine their skills.

Affordable and Accessible Youth Sports

With prices set at $159 for each 8-week class, First Dink Foundation is making pickleball accessible for families across the community. The foundation continues to emphasize affordability and inclusivity, aiming to provide quality sports education and mentorship opportunities to local youth.
