Life Time Canton’s Pickleball Tournament: The pickleball scene in Canton is heating up as Life Time Canton gets ready to host the Fall Classic Tournament from October 10 to October 13, 2024. As one of the most anticipated events of the year for pickleball enthusiasts, this indoor tournament is set to take place at the Life Time Canton location on three dedicated hardcourt surfaces.
The tournament is open to all players, from seasoned competitors to newcomers, making it a unique opportunity for the community to come together and show their skills. Vendors will be on-site throughout the event, offering top-tier pickleball gear and goodies.
Tournament Registration and Cost
Registration is currently open until October 5, 2024, with fees set at $45 for Life Time members and $55 for non-members. Each additional event, including Men’s, Women’s, and Mixed Doubles or singles events, comes with an extra $10 fee. Players are required to have a DUPR account and be part of the Life Time Canton Township DUPR club to participate.
Event Structure and Format
The tournament will follow a round-robin format:
- Brackets with 7-9 teams will have a minimum of six games, with each game played to 15 points, win by one. There will be no playoff rounds leading to medal matches.
- Brackets with 4-6 teams will play two games to 15 points, win by one, with each team facing all other teams twice.
All start times are subject to change based on registration numbers, and events may be merged or split as needed to accommodate players. Players are limited to participating in one event per day, with brackets filled on a first-come, first-served basis.
Refund Policy and Additional Information
Life Time Canton offers a full refund for cancellations made 30 days before the event, a 50% refund 15 days prior, and no refund for cancellations within 10 days of the event. Any exceptions will be at the discretion of the Tournament Director.
Venue and Amenities
The tournament will be held at Life Time Canton’s indoor facility at 1700 N Haggerty Rd, featuring air-conditioned pickleball courts with a permanent net setup. The Franklin X-40 ball will be used for all matches. Players can expect free parking but are reminded that no pets, food, grilling, or potluck dishes are allowed on the premises.
