Coachella Valley Grand Prix Pickleball League Recruitment: Last week’s focus was on the new weeknight pickleball league at Paradise Pickleball in Palm Desert. Now, attention shifts to an exciting development for seniors: the Coachella Valley Grand Prix Pickleball requires more teams for its Senior 70s divisions.
The league will kick off in the second week of January and run through March. Men’s and women’s teams will compete on Mondays, while mixed teams will play on Tuesdays. This schedule provides ample opportunity for senior players to engage in competitive and enjoyable pickleball matches.

The league is structured into various divisions, each with its own set of teams:
- Senior 70’s Men’s 4.0+/3.5: Palm Springs Westin, La Quinta Wellness (Fritz Burns Park)
- Senior 70’s Men’s 3.5/3.0: The Citrus CC, Mission Hills CC
- Senior 70’s Men’s 3.0: Ironwood
- Senior 70’s Women’s 3.5/3.0: Palm Springs Westin, Mission Hills, The Lakes
- Senior 70’s Women’s 3.0: Trilogy at the Polo Grounds, Mission Hills CC, Mountainview CC
- Senior 70’s Mixed 3.5/3.0: Palm Desert Resort, Mission Hills CC #1, Mission Hills CC #2, Trilogy at the Polo Grounds
- Senior 70’s Mixed 3.0: PGA West
Call for Additional Teams
Kim Sholz, who is spearheading the league’s launch, is calling for more teams to ensure the league’s success. Senior players are encouraged to form teams and join the league. If the players are interested in participating or need more information, they can contact Kim via email at futfalt@aol.com.
Possible Suggestion
There is also a suggestion to consider adjusting the age bracket to 65+, which could potentially attract more players and enhance participation.
