The Pickleball DRS Christmas Classic: Play Hard, Give Back, and Win Amazing Prizes

The Pickleball DRS Christmas Classic: The annual Pickleball DRS Christmas Classic is scheduled for December 13-15, 2024, at the Springdale Recreation Center in Springdale, Arkansas. A unique combination of competition and charity, this event is partnering with Toys for Tots to brighten the holidays for local youth while providing top-tier pickleball action. Participants are encouraged to bring a toy valued at $20 or more, or make a $20 donation, to enter a raffle for a chance to win one of four ACE Pickleball paddles, each valued at over $1,000.

This year’s event is a Hybrid Tournament, featuring separate brackets for players 49 and under, and 50 and over. Players over 50 can team up with younger partners but must compete in the younger age bracket, adding an extra layer of flexibility and excitement. With a guaranteed minimum of four games per team, all matches will be played in a round-robin format. For brackets with five or more entries, games will go to 15 points, while smaller brackets will play to 11 points.

While no cash prizes are offered, the Christmas Classic still has plenty of rewards. In addition to the ACE paddles, USSP members will compete for points in the organization’s annual prize system. Each year, top USSP point winners receive prizes with a retail value of $20,000, distributed among the top 10 finishers in each age group for both men and women. For those vying for year-end rankings, this event could be a crucial opportunity to secure additional points.

The venue, Springdale Recreation Center, features 18 courts with hardwood surfaces. While the facility is indoors, it is not air-conditioned, which could make for a warmer playing environment. Players are reminded that no pets, food, or outside chairs are allowed on the courts, but ample parking will be available, with clearly marked lots surrounding the rec center.

Refunds will be available until the cancellation deadline on December 2, 2024, minus a $15 administration fee. After that date, no refunds will be issued, and fees are non-transferable. With holiday spirit and competitive pickleball in the air, the Pickleball DRS Christmas Classic promises to be a memorable way for players to wrap up the 2024 season while supporting a great cause.

For those looking to get involved, registration is open until December 9, 2024.
