New Pickleball Facility in Carmel Coming with Exciting Plans: Reimagining Recreation

New Pickleball Facility in Carmel: A new pickleball facility is set to take shape in southwest Carmel, promising to elevate the local pickleball scene. On October 1, the Carmel Plan Commission committee approved 3rd Shot Pickleball’s proposal to renovate a portion of an industrial building located at 4400 W. 96th St. The plans include the addition of 15 state-of-the-art courts, a concessions area, and a lounge space for pickleball players and spectators.

Enhanced Parking Solutions

To accommodate visitors, the renovation will also involve restriping a dock area at the rear of the building to create 14 new parking spots, along with paving a nearby grassy area to add 30 additional spaces. This thoughtful consideration of parking logistics reflects a commitment to ensuring accessibility for all users.

Leadership from Experienced Pickleball Figures

The facility is backed by a private investment group that operates two locations in Colorado and is also working on new sites in Reno and Evansville. Among the team members spearheading this initiative is Rick Witsken, a Zionsville resident, co-founder of the National Pickleball League, and a two-time IHSAA tennis champion from Carmel High School. Witsken’s expertise and passion for racquet sports are set to play a pivotal role in launching this exciting new pickleball venue.

Comprehensive Offerings for All Levels

3rd Shot Pickleball plans to operate from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily, offering a variety of programs, including league play, pickleball tournaments, and rental opportunities for those looking to enjoy the sport casually or competitively. The facility will be open to the public and will provide membership options, encouraging broader community engagement with pickleball.

Additional Amenities and Activities

Beyond the pickleball courts, the facility will feature two conference rooms and a range of activities, such as cornhole and table tennis, creating a vibrant hub for recreational engagement. Alongside the concessions, patrons will also be able to enjoy beer and wine, making it a perfect spot for competitive play and socializing.
