Pickleball Tournament Awaits in Hot Springs: 2 Old Goats And The Kids

Pickleball Tournament Awaits in Hot Springs: The 2 Old Goats & the Kids tournament, held from October 18 to 20, 2024, at the Hot Springs Village Pickleball Club, offers an exciting opportunity for players to compete in various formats. This USSP Senior Tournament and 49 and Under Tournament invite players to join in singles, skinny singles, doubles, and mixed doubles events. Participants aged 50 and over can team up with players aged 49 and under in a unique hybrid format, promoting intergenerational competition.

Tournament Details

To participate in the tournament, players must register for a fee of $55, which includes a 2 Old Goats towel and entertainment on Saturday, October 19. The registration also incurs a $10 fee per event, and the tournament is limited to 300 players or until the director deems the day’s events full.

Schedule of Events

The tournament’s schedule is packed with action, providing ample opportunities for practice and competition.

  • October 17 (Thursday):
    • Practice on 7 lighted and 7 unlighted courts from 3:00 PM to 9:00 PM.
  • October 18 (Friday):
    • Men’s and Women’s Singles and Skinny Singles (skill levels: 2.5, 3.0, 3.5, 4.0+) featuring Round Robin play. Medals will be awarded based on group performance, with pickling entertainment from “Paddlers in Disguise” following the last match.
  • October 19 (Saturday):
    • Men’s and Women’s Skill/Age Round Robin Doubles (skill levels: 2.5, 3.0, 3.5, 4.0+). Medals will be awarded for each skill group.
    • Entertainment from “Weathers & Wellfed” performing classical country, jazz, and blues from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM.
  • October 20 (Sunday):
    • Mixed Doubles Skill/Age Round Robin Doubles (skill levels: 2.5, 3.0, 3.5, 4.0+). As with previous days, medals will be awarded for performance.
  • Additional Notes: Events may be merged or split based on registration numbers, and players can expect a minimum of 4 games per event.

Venue Information

The tournament will take place at the Hot Springs Village Pickleball Club, featuring 14 outdoor non-covered courts. Players will utilize portable nets and the Diadem Premire Power Pickleball for matches.

  • Refund Policy: Refunds are available up to 2 weeks before the tournament registration closing date, subject to a $15 processing fee and a $5 service fee.   • General Guidelines: No pets are allowed at the venue, and players are encouraged to maintain sportsmanship throughout the tournament.
