Nearly 200 pickleball enthusiasts picked up their paddles last weekend at the Veterans School for the Move4Heather Pickleball Tournament, successfully raising $20,000 for brain cancer research. This impressive turnout not only showcased the community’s passion for the sport but also their dedication to a meaningful cause.

Organizers Unite for a Common Goal

The fundraising pickleball tournament was organized by Marblehead Pickleball in collaboration with Friends of Marblehead Basketball. Their efforts have helped turn this event into a powerful fundraising initiative, continuing the legacy of Heather Walker, who sadly passed away from glioblastoma in April 2023.

Honoring Heather Walker’s Legacy

The funds raised during this tournament will go directly to the Heather Walker Glioblastoma Fund. Walker’s journey inspired many, as she managed to raise around $700,000 for brain cancer research through the Move4Heather initiative. Her commitment to the cause, even while undergoing treatment, has left a lasting impact on her community.
