The 2024 Southern Pickleball Georgia State Championships is set to take place at Wyomia Tyus Olympic Park in Griffin, Georgia, from November 15 to November 17, 2024. This premier pickleball event will feature a world-class facility with 18 DecoTurf pickleball courts, providing ample shade structures, open green spaces for personal tents, clean restrooms, concessions, and a hospitality tent for players.
Important Court Regulations
Participants should be aware that only non-marking court shoes are permitted on the courts. Additionally, items such as chairs, bags, tents, and animals are not allowed on the court surfaces, which are designated for pickleball play only.
Event Schedule
- Friday, November 15th: Men’s Singles and Women’s Singles, with the first matches starting at 2 PM.
- Saturday, November 16th: Men’s Doubles and Women’s Doubles, beginning at 8 AM.
- Sunday, November 17th: Mixed Doubles, with matches also starting at 8 AM.
Players must check in at least 30 minutes before their scheduled start time, with the check-in desk opening at 7 AM each morning.
If courts are available and all players have checked in, this pickleball tournament may start subsequent events earlier than scheduled. Court assignments will be communicated via text messaging on the day of each event.
Refund Policy
Being an outdoor tournament, participants should note that weather-related cancellations do not qualify for refunds unless players purchase tournament insurance. The tournament director reserves the right to modify the format, shorten games, or make other necessary adjustments to ensure the completion of events.
Players must withdraw by October 27, 2024, to receive a refund, minus a $15 administration fee for cancellations before that date.
Southern Pickleball provides tournament insurance covering weather-related cancellations, withdrawals due to injury, or family emergencies. Players who miss all events will receive a full refund of registration and event fees. If a player participates in one event and misses others, they will be refunded for the canceled events. Registration is non-transferable.
Participants who fail to show up for their events without notifying the tournament director beforehand, or who leave the event early without notification, will incur a $25 fine. This fine must be settled before registering for any future Southern Pickleball events.
