The Johnson Ranch Pickleball Complex was abuzz with energy on Sunday as it hosted the second annual Dink for Pink Pickleball event. This year, sixty-four women gathered for a spirited day of pickleball, all united in a noble mission: raising funds for breast cancer services and programs at Sutter Roseville Medical Center.
Rallying for a Cause
Participants engaged in friendly competition, their enthusiasm noticeable as they battled it out on the courts. With each serve and rally, the friendship and determination of the players shone brightly. Together, they raised nearly $4,500, a testament to their commitment to supporting breast cancer awareness and research.
Cindy King, who played an instrumental role in organizing the pickleball event, shared her motivation.
“Last year the phrase ‘dink for pink’ got my attention, and I thought of no better way to play pickleball, which I’m addicted to, with fellow women and raise money for a good cause. As a result, this was my second year of organizing Dink for Pink, and we plan on doing it again next year.” – (Cindy King)
