Dysart Pickleball Organization Seeks Funds: In the heart of Dysart City Park, the Dysart Pickleball Organization is making strides toward the construction of two new pickleball courts. With a committed membership of 30 individuals from the surrounding areas, the organization remains dedicated to updating the community on the design and construction progress. Construction is slated for Spring 2025, pending the successful raising of an additional $23,000 to meet the project’s overall budget of $55,000.
The proposed courts will be strategically located east of the existing basketball court and south of the tennis courts. Designed with an asphalt base and a specialized sports surface for pickleball, the courts will also feature a surrounding fence to contain errant balls and ensure player safety. To achieve this ambitious goal, the organization plans to conduct several fundraisers and submit various grants in the coming months.
Upcoming Fundraiser
Community involvement is key to the project’s success, and the Dysart Pickleball Organization is hosting its next fundraiser: a Soup Luncheon scheduled for Sunday, January 12, 2025. In the event of inclement weather, a backup date of January 26 is set.
The luncheon will take place at the Dysart Community Building (lower level) from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and will operate on a freewill donation basis. Attendees can enjoy an array of soups, including chicken tortilla, chili, vegetable beef, and potato, accompanied by peanut butter sandwiches and cookies or bars. For those who wish to take their meals to go, pickup in the back alley is available.
Membership and Donations
Joining the Dysart Pickleball Organization offers more than just community engagement; it provides access to indoor play this winter at either D-G Elementary School or Union Middle School gyms. Membership fees are set at $40 for individuals and $50 for families.
In addition, the organization welcomes donations throughout the year, with various levels to accommodate all supporters: $25 for Pickle Friend, $50 for Pickle Ball, $100 for Pickle Paddle, $250 for Gherkin Pickle, $500 for Sweet Pickle, and $1,000 or more for Sweetest Pickle. Every contribution brings the organization one step closer to realizing its vision of new pickleball courts for the Dysart community.
