Pickleball Tournament at TVRPD: Tehachapi Valley Recreation and Park District (TVRPD) is pulling out all the stops to commemorate Parks and Recreation Month, offering a lineup of thrilling activities at the end of July alongside their regular programming and a series of complimentary events.

Scheduled to take place at the vibrant courts near the police station on a sun-kissed Saturday, participants will engage in a dynamic round-robin format featuring mixed doubles across various skill levels. As players strategize and showcase their finesse on the courts, the tournament not only celebrates sportsmanship but also fosters a sense of community spirit. It’s an unmissable opportunity to witness the passion and precision of pickleball in action amidst the picturesque landscapes of Tehachapi.

Pickleball Tournament: Saturday, July 27

Pickleball enthusiasts are invited to the city’s courts adjacent to the police station at 220 W. C St. on Saturday, July 27. A competitive round-robin tournament featuring mixed doubles across three skill levels awaits participants. The tournament schedule is as follows:

  • Advanced Level: 7:30 am – 10:00 am
  • Intermediate and Novice Levels: 10:00 am – 1:00 pm

Teams can register online at tvrpd.org with an entry fee of $60 per team. Participants will compete for top honors and coveted place medals in their respective categories. It’s a fantastic opportunity for players of all levels to showcase their skills and enjoy a day of spirited competition.

Cornhole Tournament: Sunday, July 28

The excitement continues on Sunday, July 28, at West Park, 490 W. D St., with a cornhole tournament from 4 to 8 p.m. Participants can vie for victory across three age groups: 9 to 12, 13 to 16, and over 16 years old. Teams can register online at tvrpd.org for $40 per team, aiming to win “Shop Local” gift cards valued at $200. It promises to be an evening filled with skillful throws and friendly competition under the sun.
