Megan Fudge and Jill Braverman Dominate at APP Women’s Open to Win Gold Medal

Megan Fudge and Jill Braverman: The inaugural APP Women’s Open presented by The James in Columbus, Ohio, made headlines this weekend, particularly with the excitement surrounding the women’s doubles competition. In a highly planned final, Megan Fudge, the APP Tour’s all-time women’s total medal leader, teamed up with veteran player Jill Braverman. The duo faced off against Allison Harris and Daria Walczak in a match that had spectators on the edge of their seats.

The first game was a nail-biter, characterized by long assemblies and intense back-and-forth exchanges. Fudge and Braverman, known for their strategic play, managed to edge out their opponents, winning the first game 11-9. But they didn’t let up; in game two, the powerhouse pair took control, finishing with an 11-4 victory to claim the gold medals.

Following their victory, Fudge expressed her gratitude and the significance of the event, saying:

“It’s a privilege to be out here and play in such an amazing event. We wanted to put on a good show for everybody and hope they enjoyed it. Thanks to everybody for coming out and to all the sponsors; it’s truly an amazing cause. I know so many women and men are fighting something that is so hard to beat, and we’re praying for a cancer-free world.”-(fudge)

Braverman shared a heartfelt message after the win, dedicating the victory to her mother-in-law, who is currently undergoing chemotherapy.

“I want to dedicate this win to my mother-in-law, who is currently going through chemo. She is such an inspiration, and I was thinking about her this whole match.”-(Braverman)

In the battle for bronze, Susannah Barr and Arielle Butler showed their skill and determination, taking home the third-place medals.
