Teams Battle on Championship Sunday
Both teams arrived with strong records — St. Louis Shock with three wins and New Jersey 5s with two. The match opened with women’s doubles, where Anna Leigh Waters and Meghan Dizon from the New Jersey 5s outplayed Anna Bright and Kate Fahey of the Shock, winning 11-4.
In the men’s doubles, Hayden Patriquin and Gabriel Tardio of St. Louis Shock fought hard and secured an 11-8 win over Will Howells and Noe Khlif of the New Jersey 5s, tying the match at 1-1.
Mixed Doubles Raise the Stakes
The third game, mixed doubles, saw Gabriel Tardio and Kate Fahey of the Shock fall 4-11 to the 5s’ Noe Khlif and Meghan Dizon, giving New Jersey a 2-1 lead.
But Hayden Patriquin and Anna Bright brought the Shock back into the game in the next mixed doubles match. They won 11-8 against Will Howells and Anna Leigh Waters, leveling the match at 2-2 and forcing a Dreambreaker.
