Orlando Squeeze Pickleball DreamBreaker Win: The Orlando Squeeze secured a close 3-2 win over the Chicago Slice on Saturday at The Picklr MLP Salt Lake City, held at The Picklr Kaysville. The match went down to a DreamBreaker, where Orlando narrowly claimed victory 22-20 after the teams split the doubles matches 2-2.

Early Wins Split Between Teams

The Orlando Squeeze started strong in women’s doubles. Lacy Schneemann and Milan Rane defeated Callie Smith and Vivian Glozman 11-7, giving Orlando the first point.

But the Chicago Slice answered right away. James Ignatowich and Max Freeman took the men’s doubles match 11-5 over Federico Staksrud and Dylan Frazier, tying the match at one win each.

Mixed Doubles Lead to a Tie

In the first mixed doubles game, Federico Staksrud and Milan Rane faced Vivian Glozman and Max Freeman. The Chicago duo edged out a win, 11-9, putting the Slice ahead 2-1.

The second mixed doubles match was a must-win for the Orlando Squeeze. Dylan Frazier and Lacy Schneemann rose to the occasion, defeating James Ignatowich and Callie Smith 11-9. This tied the match again, setting up the deciding DreamBreaker.

DreamBreaker Decides the Match

Both teams sent out all four players for the singles-style DreamBreaker. For Orlando, it was Federico Staksrud, Dylan Frazier, Milan Rane, and Lacy Schneemann. The Chicago Slice lined up Max Freeman, James Ignatowich, Vivian Glozman, and Callie Smith.

It was a tight contest, but the Orlando Squeeze managed to edge past the Slice with a final DreamBreaker score of 22-20, clinching the match 3-2.
