Anna Leigh Waters and Ben Johns delivered a commanding performance in the mixed doubles quarterfinals at the Carvana Mesa Cup presented by Proton. The duo defeated Hurricane Tyra Black and Christian Alshon 11-2, 11-4 on Humana Championship Court at the Arizona Athletic Grounds in Mesa, Arizona.

A One-Sided Battle

As the tournament’s No. 1 seed, Waters and Johns showcased their elite skills against the fifth-seeded Black and Alshon.

From the start, they dictated the pace, overwhelming their opponents with precision shots and dominant court coverage. The 11-2 first-game victory set the tone, and they maintained their momentum in the second, closing it out 11-4.
